Real Salt Lake vs Ogden Outlaws

The Ogden Outlaws are excited to announce our annual exhibition match with Real Salt Lake. The game is scheduled to be played at St. Joseph High School on Tuesday June 23rd at 5:30 p.m. Come early to get a good seat. Those with Season Passes and the "A" Tickets will be admitted as part of their Season Ticket packages. Regular Admission will be $8.00 for Adults and $5.00 for Youth. Don't forget to bring a little extra money for Hot Dogs and Nachos at the snack shack.

Outlaws Training made available

The Ogden Outlaws are making training available from their players and coaches to local teams
Coach Mike Hickman is currently making up a schedule of local teams that would like to have members of the Ogden Outlaws organization come and train them. Teams of all age levels are welcome to apply. Training will focus on positions, and developing skills and knowledge for those positions. Teams will recieve a 1 1/2 hour session.from Ogden Outlaw players for a fee of $50.00. New Head Coach - Ted Eck

The Ogden Outlaws have Named Ted Eck as the new Head Coach. Ted will be working with Mike Hickman who will continue to work as an Assistant Coach. Coach Hickman commented “Ted is bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Outlaws that will greatly benefit the young men on the roster. That experience will make us a
	better team.” Mike also acknowledged Eck’s new role as Director of Coaching of the Outlaw F.C. Youth Club. Coach Hickman further stated “Having played professionally, he (Eck) knows what it takes to play at the next level which will only enhance their chances of reaching their goals and dreams of playing in the professional ranks. He will also be a great addition to the soccer community as he works with the young kids in the area.” Eck currently holds a USSF “A” Coaching license. Ted has been working as the Director of Coaching with Maui United and as the Vice President of the Maui Youth Soccer League. He is a Hall of Fame member of Western Illinois University. He played professionally for 13 years, including 13 Caps ( international appearances) with the US Men’s National team. He scored a goal with the National Team on July 28, 1990 in a 2-1 win over East Germany. A brief review of his resume includes: 2 Years in Canada (the Ottawa
Intrepid and the Toronto Blizzard). In 1989 while at Ottawa, received the league’s Golden Boot, scoring 21 goals in 26 appearances, 1992-94 with Colorado Foxes (now USL First Division) - played in 3 Championship Games, winning 2. While with the Foxes he was also honored as an All-League selection three times. Selected third overall in the inaugural MLS draft by the Dallas Burn, and he played six seasons with 170 appearances and 12 goals. Three-time US Open Cup champion with San Jose Oaks in 1992, CD Mexico (Fresno, CA) in 1993 and Dallas Burn in 1997 The Outlaws welcome Ted, and look forward to working with him. Announcing the 2009 Game Schedule

We are excited to be announcing the 2009 Game Schedule. As we previously announced the Ogden Outlaws have been assigned to the Southwest Division of the Western Conference. We will have our home game opener against the San Fernando Valley Quakes on Friday May 22, followed on Saturday May 23 when we will be playing the Ventura County Fusion. Our other home games will be:
June 13 versus BYU Cougars July 1 versus the BYU Cougars July 10 versus the Orange County Blue Star July 11 versus the Fresno Fuego July 17 versus the Lancaster Rattlers July 18 versus the Bakersfield Brigade
Get your family vacation in during the end of June when we have our long stretch of away games, then come bring the family for a wild and exciting July. We plan on many exciting games and activities this year, so remember our motto: Family, Fun & the Beautiful Game.

Congratulations to
Kyle Christensen

Former Ogden Outlaws player Kyle Christensen was drafted on Thursday January 15th as the 35th pick in Major League Soccer’s SuperDraft by Chivas USA . Kyle played the 2007 and 2008 seasons as an Outlaw midfielder. He played a total of 20 games, 1687 minutes, scored 10 goals, and had 4 assists, 24 points, 56 shots on goal, and 21 Fouls. He currently holds a position in each catagory of the "Top Ten All Time Leaders".

Kyle attended the University of Denver, where he was a valuable member of their men's team, He was named the 2008 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Year, as well as All-MPSF first team honors, and the fourth year he has been recognized by the conference. Christensen led the Pioneers to their first-ever MPSF championship in 2008, and the team advanced to the First Round of the NCAA Championship for the first time since 1970 after finishing the season 10-7-2 overall and 8-1-1 in the MPSF.

As a three year member of the Layton High School team, he was named Utah’s Player of the Year in 2003, was the MVP and first-team all-state honoree his senior season, a second-team all-state his sophomore year and an honorable mention his freshman season.
We are very excited to see Kyle move into the Major League Soccer ranks, and know that he will continue to play outstanding soccer.

The Outlaws FC!

The Ogden Outlaws are beginning an association with a new club called the Outlaws FC. The association will be a joint effort to help them as they develop their club, players and coaching staff.

In the past the Ogden Outlaws Men's team has worked with several local independent teams, allowing them to be called "Outlaws". But the teams retained their independent status. The new Outlaws FC Club while being a separate organization from the Ogden Outlaws Men's Team will allow teams to work within a club organization designed to provide an atmosphere of growth and development from sharing resources. The new club will be a not for profit organization that will maintain their separate identity.

In May and June of 2009 the Outlaws FC will be holding tryouts for players and teams wishing to join them for the summer tournament season. They are interested in Girls and Boys born after August 1, 1998 for U-10 and older teams. Players should be able to meet all of the Utah Youth Soccer Association (UYSA) Requirements pertaining to player registration.
